What’s going on?

Well, the long story short is that the shopping centre housing our Manchester store is being redeveloped, and unfortunately that means we’re being turfed out, so we’re looking for a new home!

What are you going to do?

We’re not giving up, that’s for sure! We’ve found a new home that we love - somewhere that will be a permanent place for our Manchester home, somewhere bigger & better where we can continue to grow!

What do you need?

We want to create the best version of our Manchester home, but with us being given such short notice on having to vacate our current home we need your help to ensure we can do it! We need to raise £8,000 to cover the costs of our new premises, new equipment and of course, keeping our incredible team.

We’re not asking for donations or charity, but instead we’re asking for contributions to our new home in return for some incredible rewards; from custom made eco-resin homewares and year long plant subscriptions, to exclusive private workshops and events!

Our Story

In 2020, I started Studio Dawn; what began as a little dopamine-boosting craft session on my living room floor quickly grew into an online shop of craft kits, designed to give people the same joy and satisfaction I myself had found from creating.

In 2023, after a whirlwind couple of years building my online shop and dipping my toe into the world of in-person workshops, I was offered the chance to open my own shop in Quayside shopping centre in Salford, UK, by a charity who subsidised the rent of small businesses, allowing them to open a shop when they'd usually be financially unable.

I created a warm, cosy haven full of self-care staples and creative sessions; all I wanted was to make a space where people could come to unwind, feel safe and find joy.

Studio Dawn grew rapidly, I took on my first member of staff and after a year we were offered the chance to move into a larger shop in the centre, well over double the size of our first unit - a much needed size increase after our creative workshops began to repeatedly sell out. As if 2024 wasn't a big enough year for us, we expanded into another city, opening our first Leeds store in November. 

Our Manchester home has always been our flagship space; my original baby, the orange-est, cosiest, happiest place I could have ever imagined. It's the place I went from a single person running a little business to having a team of 8 people, it's the place we celebrated many birthdays, it's the place that has held me safe in my darkest of times, it's the place we've welcomed over 15,000 people to for workshops and events over the 3 years we've been here.

It's also the place we're about to lose for good. 

It's no secret Salford Quays is being redeveloped fast, and unfortunately for us, the shopping centre we've called home for the last few years is at the centre of it. The message has been clear, independent shops out, go karting arena in - so here we are, searching for our new home.

We're looking to find our permanent home - after viewing different spaces, I've finally found a couple of places, one of which I want to call our forever home, somewhere for Studio Dawn to grow bigger than we ever imagined, somewhere new to provide the same safe, warm, happy space for you to create. 

But we can't do it without you. To secure a new premises, we have to put down a lot of advance rent, an extremely hefty deposit, we need to foot the bill for high business rates, additional taxes, and I need to keep my team and their livelihoods safe while we do it - without them, Studio Dawn isn't what it is.
